Forget all the fun stuff: you’re pregnant now, and life just got a whole lot more hazardous. It seems like everywhere you look, there’s a label advising against use during pregnancy. Which is a total bummer for a lot of your favorite products.
Don’t worry though – there are plenty of awesome, pregnancy-safe options on the market.
One place you’ll definitely want to take a good, hard look at is skincare. I’m in my thirties, and was pretty devoted to my anti-aging skincare routine prior to pregnancy. I had all the $100 creams and serums and was religious about slathering them on every night.
Unfortunately, the large majority of those products are no so good for baby, and finding a replacement that you love can be kinda tough.
Luckily, I’ve done the work for you. Here’s a look at some of my favorite products from pregnancy:
Moisturizer – Belli Beauty Healthy Glow Facial Hydrator
$27.99 on Amazon
At times, my face felt extra dry, and I supplemented this moisturizer by rubbing plain coconut oil on those dry spots. Worked like a charm, and I still employ that technique today.
Face wash – Belli Beauty Anti-Blemish Face Wash
$18.95 on Amazon
I loved this product for when my face was broken out in those first few months of pregnancy. It was gentle and not drying, but definitely knocked out those breakouts.
Another option – which I still use to this day – is this Simply Goat Milk Soap from Treefort Naturals.
$7 from Treefort Naturals website
Treefort Naturals is an awesome little Connecticut company that we’ve been buying from for more than five years (she even did up some custom soaps for our wedding favors!). All the soaps are homemade and free from harsh ingredients, and they work extremely well, too. I’ve found that a simple soap such as this helps my skin stay hydrated, clear and bright.
Body Lotion – Bio Oil
$17.99 at Target
I have used Bio Oil since way back in the day, and honestly, it’s kind of a miracle. I slathered it all over my body, day and night, and came out of pregnancy and PP without a single stretch mark. So, ya, it’s a miracle.
