I made a tiny person: Aurora’s birthday photoshoot

One year ago, we met a woman and decided to hire her to photograph the birth of our child. Yes, you read that right.

We hired a birth photographer, and it was the absolute best decision ever (Want to know why? Read this blog post).

So when the idea came up that we should do a photoshoot for Aurora’s first birthday, we knew exactly who to call.

It was so special to be able to hire Mary Beth Miller again, for yet another important milestone in our child’s life. And it was truly such an amazing experience to work with her for the second time, exactly one year later. We absolutely love Mary Beth, and there’s no one else we’d trust for this occasion!

For this photoshoot, we wanted to capture Aurora’s personality, so we chose to spend the day at the Carnegie Natural History Museum in Pittsburgh. Aurora got to run, laugh, play and explore, all without the pressure of posed photos.

Here is a sneak peek at some of the shots from her first birthday (all photos by Mary Beth Miller Photography).
