In TWO The Wild: Aurora’s National Parks Birthday Party

Guest limits. Bans on indoor gatherings. Fear of getting sick. Birthday parties look a little different this year because of the pandemic.

But we’re extremely grateful that we were still able to celebrate our wild girl turning two!

Knowing we were required by law to hold a gathering outdoors, we planned an outdoorsy theme, and decided to host the event the weekend of her birthday.

Enter: the weather forecast.

The weekend of her birthday had a projection of rain, as did the remainder of November. There was literally one Sunday without a forecast of rain…it was the following day.

We panicked. We cried. We were so worried our girl wouldn’t get a party.

So at the very last minute, we moved her party to tomorrow. We prepped, created, cooked and decorated all in less than 24 hours…from complete scratch! For reference, we usually start planning a party weeks in advance.

But, we’re so glad we took advantage of the warm weather and hosted her party that day! It was mid 60s and sunny, and turned out to be the perfect day.

We chose a National Parks theme because she absolutely loves the outdoors and exploring.
