We love Louisville. Like, top three favorite destinations, ever.
And even though I am like anti-sports, my two favorite sports are horse racing and bull riding (ya, I know, I’m weird).
So when it came time to pick a theme for our baby shower, there really was no question about it: Kentucky Derby.
The booze. The gambling. The fashion. The hats. Perfect for a baby shower.
Ok, well, maybe not, but, perfect for OUR baby shower.
We wanted something gender neutral, since we hadn’t announced the gender yet. Our plan was to do the big reveal at the shower. We also revealed her name that day, too.
We chose a gold, dark green, navy and cream color palette, and went all in on the details – horse-racing ribbons, tiny horse figurines, big hats, bowties, and of course, lots of bourbon. And lots, and lots of roses.

My dress is Tahari.

Pre-pregnancy, I wore a size 8, so I sized up in this dress to a 10 and it fit the bump perfectly! And since it’s not maternity, I can have it altered later for another occasion.
